Apple can’t sell the iPhone 14 Plus, will a new color save the day?

The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are not the most exciting devices in the lineup. However, keeps trying to convince potential buyers to get these two devices. The two entry-level iPhone 14 series devices don't have the most appealing specs, and also lack the new design language, but perhaps, a new paint job may be enough to attract buyers. Launching new color options is a good strategy to bring a device back to the spotlight. Apparently, Apple wants to do this by launching a new Yellow color option for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.

According to the Weibo tipster Setsuna Digital, Apple will launch new color options this Spring. According to MacRumors, Apple's PR team plans a product briefing for the next few days. Considering all this, the new Yellow color options seem to be coming soon.

A new yellow color to save the iPhone 14 Plus

Worth noting that this is not the most reliable source of info. Setsuna Digital does not have a track record like other tipsters. Still, the rumors seem to fall in line with Apple's upcoming product briefing next week. Moreover, the reliable folks at 9to5Mac indicate that Apple is really planning to launch a new iPhone 14 and 14 Plus Yellow color option. This new color will bring some nostalgic feelings to old-school Apple fans.

Apple iPhone 14 Plus

To recall, the Yellow color reached some classic iPhone models like the iPhone XR and the iPhone 5C. The latter was basically the first iPhone to bet on fancy colorways, which probably was the most successful strategy in the now-defunct C-series lineup. The iPhone XR was a success for its appealing price and multiple colorways. We are curious to see if the new Yellow color can breathe some fresh air on the iPhone 14 Plus. While the iPhone 14 seems to be finding its audience, the Plus model seems to have a lackluster performance.

If the iPhone 14 Plus isn't the most interesting iPhone, but things may change with the iPhone 15 Plus. The Plus variant was created to replace the ill-fated Mini series. iPhone 14 Plus
Just a concept

The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus pack 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch OLED screens with just a 60Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, they bring the Apple A15 bionic chip with up to 512 GB of Storage. In the camera department, they lack the new 48MP camera and stick with the dual 12 MP camera setup. There is also a 12 MP selfie snapper and the whole Face ID hardware. The phone promises a long battery life with over 20 hours on a single charge. Interestingly, they bring 20W fast charging, Qi wireless charging, and MagSafe support. The iPhone 15 series is expected to bring significant changes when compared to these devices. These changes include a new camera setup, ProMotion displays with a 120Hz refresh rate, and more.
