Don’t Expect Flagship-Grade Performance From Huawei P60 Pro

The next big thing from , the P60 Pro, is likely around the corner. With leaks about the phone picking up momentum, the Huawei P60 Pro will likely be announced soon. But will it actually be the next big thing from Huawei? Well, a recent leak about the device suggests otherwise.

Tipster WangzaiKnows, who is very reliable when it comes to Huawei leaks, has just shared new info about the device. And according to that, the Huawei P60 Pro will come with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Now, in case you are not caught up, that is a previous gen chipset.

What to Expect From Huawei P60 Pro

WangzaiKnows did not directly say the phone would come with a last-gen chipset. Instead, he shared a screenshot with the caption, “(Huawei) P60 Pro.” The screenshot carries GPU information of the SoC, which is Adreno 730. Now, if you do a deep analysis, this is the same GPU that is present in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

That said, it is not like the SoC is bad. Its performance is still up to the mark. The SoC comes with eight cores with the 7th Gen Qualcomm AI Engine. So, the P60 Pro's performance will be great with the 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

However, the phone will surely fall short when compared with the current flagship devices. For example, the Galaxy S23 series. All the phone in the lineup comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which offers a significant upgrade over the 8+ Gen 1 SoC. So, the P60 Pro will at least fall short in terms of benchmarks.

Still, there are great things to look forward to. According to other reports, the P60 Pro will use the world's largest sensor as the primary camera. That will surely push the phone ahead in the leaderboards.
