Samsung is gearing up for the launch of two new foldable smartphones later this year. This includes the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3. As per certain reports, the former is expected to feature support for the S Pen, and now, it seems like the future models of the latter might also arrive with this feature.
According to a LetsGoDigital report, the South Korean tech giant recently filed a trademark with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) for the name “Z Flip” earlier this week. This trademark is categorized under Class 9 with a description of ‘smartphones, tablets, protective covers ; electronic pen; capacitive stylus.’ This implies that a certain Galaxy Z Flip model might feature support for S Pen in the near future.
As of right now, it is unknown if the Galaxy Z Flip 3 that is launching later this year will arrive with this feature. Although, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to arrive with S Pen stylus. In other words, we might see the support for stylus added to the clamshell folding smartphone in the future, so we can also expect a model like the Galaxy Z Flip 4 this feature as well. However, this is just a speculation so take this report with a pinch of salt.
The S Pen is Samsung’s in house technology, so we can expect the technology making its way to the foldable device. Thus, stay tuned for more, as we will provide updates when additional information is available regarding this matter.
