Google Pixel 8 Pro Prototype Leaked: What to Expect

Even though every company dislike leaks, they seem to be getting inevitable in recent years. Almost every company suffers from a few leaks before the final product comes out. However, seems to be the most affected company in this regard. Google products easily get leaked to the point that the company is forced to announce some products before the planned date. This was to help stay ahead of the leaks curve, but it looks like the company is still lagging behind.

A new prototype image of the upcoming Google Pixel 8 Pro has leaked recently on Reddit. Both the image and the account that posted it were deleted some few moments later. Usually when this happens, it proves the authenticity of the leak.

Judging from the details of the leaked image, the device is clearly the pro version of the Google Pixel 8 smartphone. Viewing from the back, you could see the iconic horizontal camera bump with the triple camera lenses which includes a Telephoto lens.

Also, the device is clearly a prototype version which is inscribed on the sticker which is placed behind it. It also says that the device is for test and evaluation only. The product version field also display “Husky”. This is the codename which is widely known for the Google Pixel 8 Pro. The prototype has a 12GB of a LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS storage which was made by SK Hynix.

It is worth noting that, this device is not made for sale since it is just a prototype. Therefore, the final retail product may end up coming with some changes from what we are seeing now. Also, this prototype version has some weird patterns on the back glass which doesn't look like something that Google is going to bring to the final product. The pattern may probably be there to detect leaks, which eventually happened. The color of the device looks sort of similar to that of the camera island. This is also less likely to be the case for the final product.

Despite not being the final product, this prototype gives us a clearer glimpse of what the upcoming Pixel 8 Pro would look like. The device will not shift too much from its predecessor when it comes to its design. Google will likely launch the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro somewhere in October. This leaves us with enough time to see more details and leaks like this.
