One of the major selling points of smartphones is consistent and timely security updates. In recent times, many OEMs are now adopting this idea because smart devices easily get vulnerable. Of course, when it comes to security updates, Google is the fastest. If there is any benefit of owning a Pixel device, one of them is certainly the timely and consistent security update.

According to Google’s May 2020 Android security bulletin, the latest security update is already available for Google Pixel devices. This update fixes a couple of vulnerabilities and it is available for the Pixel 4 series, Pixel 3a, Pixel 2, and Pixel 3 XL. This update simply a security update and it does not come with any functional changes

Some users do not really take the monthly security updates seriously. However, we must understand that we can easily lose control of our device if we do not update them. Some vulnerabilities can allow attackers to access your device and steal sensitive information including passwords.

As usual, this update will roll out OTA and all units will not get it at the same time. If you can not wait for the OTA update, you can download the full image from this page and try to install it manually. If you choose this method, you need to know that the process is not straightforward. Before you do this, please go to settings and check for any available updates.
