Honor 30 Youth Edition received a software update a couple of days ago with a set of improvements. Now, the company is rolling another October update for the handset. Interestingly enough, it brings last month security patch and multi-screen collaboration feature for easy file transfer across multiple devices. The update also brings system stability improvements and is rolling out to Chinese models with build number MagicUI 3.1.1.193.

Unfortunately, the changelog does not mention anything apart from the vague “System stability improvements” message. It also adds September 2020 security patch. It’s too bad that the company couldn’t ship the October 2020 security patch for the handset. Well, at least September is just one month ago. The device definitively is more secure than it was before this update.

Honor 30 Youth Edition specifications

The Honor 30 Lite is a very competitive mid-range phone with solid specifications and a modern design. The front of the Honor 30 Lite carries a 6.5-inch pearl screen, with a screen ratio of 91.2%. There is a 9-layers of glare craft glass material on the back. It provides colors such as Magic Night Black, Wizard of Oz, Summer Rainbow, and Magic Mirror Silver. The fingerprint recognition is integrated on the side. The panel has FHD+ resolution and a very satisfactory 90Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the phone boasts the Dimensity 800 5G chipset made on a 7nm process. It’s one of the devices that kicked Huawei’s partnership with MediaTek. The phone is paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, while the storage amount is either 64GB or 128GB. The phone draws power from a 4,000mAh battery with 22.5W fast-charging. It is worth mentioning that the Honor 30 Lite supports 5G dual-mode, covering n1/n38/n41/n77/n78/n79 six frequency bands, supporting full-scene antennas, elevator mode, cell signal parking, Link Turbo, etc.

On the back, the phone carries a 48MP main camera (1/2-inch, F/1.8). It is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide angle/depth of field lens and a 2MP macro lens. There is a 16MP selfie shooter. The main camera on the rear supports a 48MP super straight out, fast capture, high-touch portrait, super night scene, 4K anti-shake/4K time-lapse photography, front adaptive AI beauty, and other functions.

The phone went official with Magic UI 3.1 based on Android 10. We’re sure that it will be eligible for the EMUI 11 update, but it should take some months to arrive.
