Huawei sack five employees for spreading fake news

Huawei is going through a really rough phase right now. In fact, the company has been struggling to put its business together since the U.S. ban. In recent times, there have been a lot of reports about the company on Weibo. These rumors are usually about executives, business, or sales. While many of these reports are false, they affect the reputation of the company and its employees.

In other to safeguard its reputation and business, the company is investigating and searching for inside sources. According to reports, filed a report with the Shenzhen police with respect to the people spreading the fake news. Interestingly, the investigation reveals that some Huawei employees are part of the rumor mongers.

Subsequently, had to relieve five employees of their duties. Huawei’s management team also issued a very strong warning to others who may want to commit the same crip. The company will not hesitate to sack any employee who involves in spreading fake news about the company. Obviously, the company will have to keep an eye on its employees so as to easily fish out perpetrators of this crime.

to invest $80 million in R&D in Ireland

According to CINNO Research, Canalys and IDC, comfortably led the Chinese smartphone market in 2020. However, Huawei’s interest is not in China alone. The company is also interested in the global market although the U.S. ban is inhibiting its growth (in terms of smartphones) globally. Huawei recently announced that it will create 110 new jobs in Ireland by the end of 2022. Furthermore, the company plans to invest over $80 million in local R&D activities.

The new jobs involve multiple business areas such as sales, R&D, and IT development. The company said that these positions will be mainly located in the Dublin headquarters and Cork and Athlone. In the past 15 months, the company has added 200 jobs in Ireland. Presently, the company has a total of 480 employees.  stated that the new investment was made with the support of continued demand for the company’s products and services.

’s smartphone business outside China is still nosediving. Without Mobile Services, its sales will continue to drop. However, we can not say the same for the Chinese market. Nevertheless, the lack of chips may also force the company to lose China.
