Apple has already started rolling out iOS 14.7 beta 2 to developers’ iPhones and its iPadOS 14.7 beta 2 to iPads. And this happens after a few days of the public rollout of iOS 14.6 and just a few days before WWDC 2021. As you know, at this event, the Cupertino will showcase the all-new iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. So it’s expected iOS 15 betas will roll out shortly after that. Of course, developers will be the first to get the system and test. Anyway, today some testers reported the iOS 14.7 beta 2 has some serious problems. What’s more annoying, you can’t fix them yourself.
Those who have been testing the iOS 14.7 beta 2 on their iPhones noticed unexpected SIM issues with their handsets. Of course, not all developers faced this problem, but many of them report about a “SIM Failure” error appearing on iPhones.

As you understand, this causes serious problems and doesn’t allow the phone to implement its main function, calling. As for incoming calls, users can’t get them as well.
However, it seems this issue appears only on those iPhones that use eSIM instead of SIMs. For those who are not aware, eSIM is the virtual SIM functionality introduced by the company recently. It makes possible for iPhone users to have a dual-SIM functionality. All iPhones released in 2018 or later support this functionality. But it is optional. If you do not need to use two phone numbers simultaneously, this feature is useless for you.
Unfortunately, you can’t fix it yourself. Thus, the only thing you can to is to wait for the beta 3 version to patch the bug.
Another option, if you have downloaded iOS 14.7 beta 2 but haven’t installed it yet, you can go to the Settings app, tap General, tap iPhone Storage, look for the iOS 14.7 beta 2 in the list, and tap on it to delete it.
However, we guess not so many iPhone users will install this version if iOS because as said the iOS 15 is on the way. But there are also some Apple fans that want to try out every new feature their favorite company develops. So we recommend to wait for the iOS 14.7 beta 3 that should become available for download soon.
p.s. This is quite common for any beta version of any system. Moreover, beta versions are for finding and fixing such issues. Say, recently, the iOS 14.6 update has generated some battery issues on some iPhones.
