iPhone 13/Pro 1TB version can help Apple catch up with Android in storage

Over the past few years, the behaviour and need of smartphone users have significantly changed. Presently, smartphone users want more storage in their smartphones. According to reports, iPhone users prefer to buy models with higher storage capacity than similar products. Earlier news broke that the iPhone 13 series may launch a new 1TB storage configuration for the first time.

According to Counterpoint Research, the average storage capacity of the smartphone industry in 2020 will exceed the 100GB mark. is the second company whose users require higher storage options, The average storage capacity of its iPhone is 141GB.  smartphones rank first in terms of average storage capacity. More users demand higher storage in smartphones

According to reports, there is an increase in ’s shipment of 128GB models year-on-year between 2019 and 2020. In addition, there is a slight drop (1%) in the shipment of 64GB models over the same period. During 2019 – 2020, the 64GB iPhone 11, iPhone XR, and iPhone 11 Pro Max are considered to account for half of ’s shipments.

The iPhone 12 Pro models currently sold by are 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. This year’s iPhone 13 may push the base model to 128GB and abandon the 64GB entry-level version. According to Counterpoint, that 128GB storage is quickly becoming the minimum standard for storage capacity in the mid-to-high-end market.

As users crave more storage in their smartphones is 1TB storage an option? According to a recent survey by 9to5Mac, 70% of responders believe that 1TB storage is an “overkill”. However, over 12% of responders say they will surely buy this storage while  11% of netizens say they would wait and see if it will be necessary.

Previously, Wedbush analysts said that the iPhone 13 series launched later this year is likely to have a new 1TB high-end storage option. Many smartphone users prefer to use the internal storage of smartphones. This is because many external storage cards are not entirely trustworthy.
