Latest Report Teases Huge Performance Gains of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Apple A17 Will Not Have Any Chance!

Qualcomm is set to unveil the curtains on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the last quarter of this year. And needless to say, it will bring many improvements over the 8 Gen 2 that current flagships are rocking. Talking of which, the 8 Gen 2 already comes with a great GPU. In most of the GPU tests, it outperforms 's A16 Bionic.

Well, Qualcomm will maintain the same streak with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. According to the latest reports, the GPU of the upcoming chipset will be 50% more powerful than its predecessor. That means Apple's A17 Bionic will have serious competition when it comes to GPU benchmarks.

While Qualcomm did not beat Apple's A16 Bionic with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the SoC beat Apple's flagship in the GPU department. And it seems Qualcomm is not ready to rest on its laurels with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. A recent report has just given us insight into how powerful the GPU of the upcoming chipset will be.

According to that, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will continue its journey of class-leading performance in terms of the GPU department. Presumably named the Adreno 750, the GPU will offer 50% more performance than the Adreno. That means the new chipset will leave the Apple A16 Bionic in the dust when it comes to GPU performance.

On that note, the current gap between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Apple A16 is pretty huge. And considering the latest report, the chances of Apple retaking the GPU throne with the Apple A17 are very slim.

That said, the recent details about the 8 Gen 3 show less promising results in terms of CPU performance. So, the A17 Bionic might still retain its lead in that regard.
