One UI 6.0 Beta Release Dates for Galaxy S23 and Other Devices

Germany's customer support announced that the One UI 6.0 beta, based on 14, will arrive for the Galaxy S23 family on August 2. Following closely, the Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A54 5G will receive the beta on August 9.

What's noteworthy is Samsung's inclusive approach. Despite focusing on high-end models initially, the company hasn't forgotten its best-selling mid-rangers. The mid-range devices will only have to wait for a week to get the beta, which is commendable.

Originally, rumors suggested that One UI 6.0 beta would launch in the third week of July. However, it appears to have been delayed by approximately a week.

Before One UI 6.0 is fully ready for all supported devices, Samsung has yet to deliver One UI 5.1.1. The Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Tab S8 families already received a beta version of this iteration earlier this month. With the official release of the Galaxy Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and Tab S9 series running on this version, updates for older Samsung devices are likely imminent.

Gizchina News of the week

The highly anticipated One UI 6.0 from Samsung is shrouded in mystery, but there are clues to its potential features in the latest Android 14 Beta 1. 's developer previews often hint at what's to come in Samsung's One UI, making it worth exploring the Android 14 Beta 1 to catch a glimpse of what's in store.

One noteworthy feature in Android 14 Beta 1 is the new back arrow for gesture navigation. With this enhancement, users can easily swipe from the left or right edge of their phone to go back, provided gesture navigation is enabled. The back arrow, wrapped in a bubble, promises to improve back gesture usability while following Material You's dynamic theming. Expect Samsung to add its touch to the design to complement One UI 6.0's theme.

In addition, sharing will become more consistent and seamless with Android 14. App developers will be able to incorporate custom actions on the sharing menu, enhancing accessibility to various sharing options within specific apps. Android 14 also considers app signals to rank and place these actions, improving the user experience. This sharing feature is likely to find its way to One UI 6.0.

Also, Android 14 brings a new per-app language preference feature, building upon its predecessor from Android 13, which is already present in the current version of One UI. This enhancement allows for dynamic customization, eliminating the need to switch keyboard languages for different apps. With this feature, the keyboard will automatically adjust to the app's language, providing a more personalized experience on One UI 6.0.

Google has taken steps to enhance security on Android 14 by granting accessibility services access to certain views only when they assist users with disabilities. This measure aims to protect user data and prevent unintended critical actions.

While Android 14 offers the option to hide weather info on the lock screen, this feature may not make its way to One UI 6.0, as it appears tailored more towards Google Pixel phones.
