OnePlus nowadays is more than a brand that focuses in the smartphone market. The brand already has a presence in the market of the TWS audio segment and even in the smart TV segment. Now, the brand is about to introduce its first smartwatch. After rumors and leaks, the brand is set to make its big arrival in the segment this year. Today, another leak surfaced showing the possible design of the OnePlus Watch.
The Chinese brand has patented a smartwatch design on German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO). The brand is yet to confirm the design, however, the description of the patent shows a design that was filed by OnePlus Technologies. In the end, the patent suggests that we are really looking at a possible smartwatch with a round dial.
One of the design sketches shows a round dial with flouted bracelet strap. On the right side, there are two buttons that probably stand for UI navigation. Moving around to the back, there are sensors for Heart Rate, Blood Oxygen, Blood Pressure and etc. Beneath them, two contact points likely for magnetic charging are also visible. According to the report, this may e a “Sport Version” of the OnePlus Watch.
The second design isn’t new for those following OnePlus news. This one has a frame that extends slightly outer and also comes with ha different strap design. It also has a clip on one end of the strap. However, the functionality is unclear right now. Other areas look like button placements, and the watch has the same sensors as the previous design.
OnePlus Watch will come in square and round dial designs
The OnePlus Watch with model number W501GB is rumored to launch sometime in March. Both already have received certification. The company will seemingly unveil a smartwatch with the “OnePlus Watch RX” moniker having a round-shaped dial. This resembles Oppo and its OPPO Watch RX, but it’s not a big surprise, as both brands are sisters. There is also a model with a square-dial in works with model number W301GB.
The brand is also preparing a Cyberpunk 2077 edition, despite the crisis in which the game is involved. As far as software is concerned, we’re expecting an in-house software solution just like other companies. After all, this proved to be a better alternative than the lackluster and poor-battery-optimized Google’s Wear OS.
