Earlier today, Realme’s CMO teased a new phone, called Realme X2 Pro and powered by the Snapdragon 855+. Several hours later, it was Realme’s Chief Product Officer turn to share some additional tidbits about the upcoming device. He posted a screenshot on a Weibo’s post that says “here’s a little gift for National Day #X2Pro” and the image attached reveals a toggle between 60 Hz and 90 Hz refresh rate for the upcoming device.

Worth noting that this isn’t the first time that Derek Wang is teasing the new refresh rate. He made a statement earlier this month, saying that Realme’s 90 Hz device is on its way and it will be cheaper than the OnePlus 7T. Both devices are manufactured in BBK Electronics factories. The big BBK group owns Oppo, OnePlus and Vivo.

The screenshot is now circulating through Twitter, quickly spreading this report. Interestingly enough, we can see a Black Background in the Settings. This also suggests that ColorOS 6, the software running on Realme and Oppo smartphones, will receive a Dark Mode pretty soon. It’s that, or this is just the background color of this specific sub-menu. The second possibility is that Realme is ready with its own Realme OS. We consider that debuting its new software alongside the Realme X2 Pro flagship would be an amazing opportunity.

The Realme X2 Pro screen will be a massive overhaul of the Realme X2’s 6.4-inch panel. Furthermore, we should expect a slightly bigger screen with the same waterdrop notch. Other specifications such as the 64MP rear camera and the 32MP selfie snapper may remain unchanged.
