After a few rumors, it’s official, Xiaomi India / Redmi has just unveiled new variants for the recently released Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro Max. The Redmi Note 9 Pro will now be available in 4GB RAM + 128GB of Storage while the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max will have a variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of Storage. 8GB of RAM is always something amazing to see in a mid-range phone like this one.
The new 4GB / 128GB variant of the Note 9 Pro will go on sale tomorrow, July 28, at 12 noon on Amazon India and Mi.com. It will retail for INR 15,999, which is just around $214. The Note 9 Pro Max, on the other hand, will be sold on Wednesday, July 29 for INR 19,999, around $267. Those are good prices for the new RAM / Storage combos, especially when both phones come with support for microSD cards. You can easily double up the storage amount with a good 128GB microSD card.
Redmi Note 9 / Note 9 Pro Max specifications
Moreover, both devices come with decent specifications like the Snapdragon 720G. The Octa-Core chipset can give a go to almost every game and every app available on PlayStore. This chipset comes with a Qualcomm® Kryo™ 465 CPU, Octa-core CPU with up to 2.3GHz clock speed. The graphical tasks are ensured by an Adreno 618 GPU. This chipset is developed on the 8nm process which ensures great performance at a lower energy cost.
More storage certainly will be a plus in a smartphone that carries the “Redmi Gaming” label. The chipset is not the only thing that these smartphones have in comment. The display also is the same panel with 6.67-inch and FHD+ Resolution, we also have the very same 5,020mAh battery, but that’s where the similarities end.
