Samsung Exec Confirms Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 Will be ‘Slimmer and Lighter’

In case you missed it, is pretty much ready for the next Galaxy Unpacked event. The event is scheduled for July 26th. And it will showcase the latest batch of Samsung devices. This includes the highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5.

TM Roh, Samsung's executive in charge of the Mobile Experience branch, has unveiled a new teaser. With it, he has confirmed that the upcoming devices will feature a slimmer and lighter design compared to their predecessors. This will eventually make the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 offer a better overall user experience.

In an official blog post, TM Roh has dropped a few hints about the next big launch of Samsung. He confirmed that the upcoming Samsung Unpacked event will bring new foldable devices, tablets, and smartwatches. In other words, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Galaxy Watch 6, and Galaxy Tab S9 series are launching in the event.

Roh talked about how this latest batch of Samsung Galaxy devices was created. The Samsung Exec explained that the “Design Identities” was the first priority. Roh then points out that Samsung's upcoming foldables have “raised the standards.” Afterward, he said that the Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 will be “slimmer and lighter than our previous generations.”

For a while, we have had reports suggesting that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 will be adopting a new hinge design. Most of them pointed out that the new foldable phones have removed the “hinge gap,” which was a major complaint for most of the Samsung foldable users.

So, with these statements from TM Roh, it would be safe to say that the reports were accurate. Now, when it comes to tablets and smartwatches, Roh says that they will work “harmoniously” to offer you the best possible connected experience.
