Back in August, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Note 20 series. Besides all the novelties introduced by the duo of smartphones, the company also brought its One UI 2.5 core update with improvements and changes in the performance. Samsung has a myriad of smartphones, and rolling out these incremental updates should be a troublesome task for the development team, especially when there are higher priorities like the future Android 11-based update. While One UI 2.5, is an update that will hardly reach the biggest part of Samsung smartphones, the company is rolling out it for some “lucky” devices. Today, the Samsung Galaxy A51 is contemplated with the latest release.

The Samsung Galaxy A51 hardly is one of the most recent and appealing mid-range phones from Samsung. In fact, it was released back in December last year alongside the Galaxy A71. The duo of devices started Samsung’s 2020 round of Galaxy A smartphones. The mid-range phone came with an Android 10-based One UI 2.0 update and now is getting the latest core update. The next step? Probably will be One UI 3.0 which will be based on Google’s Android 11 OS.

However, while Android 11 does not come, Samsung Galaxy A51 owners will enjoy the benefits of this new firmware. The new update is reaching some users in Russia right now. We expect Samsung to expand its rollout in the coming days, or weeks. The firmware bears A51FXXU4CTJ1 and has a set of underhood improvements and stability fixes. Interestingly enough, the update also introduces the October 2020 security patch to the SM-A515F version of the handset.

Of course, as far as One UI 2.5 is concerned, it brings support for Wireless DeX as well as some keyboard enhancements. The new firmware will also boost the stock camera app with a set of new modes. The update surely will blow some fresh air in the almost one-year-old smartphone.

Galaxy A51 specifications

The Galaxy A51 still stands as a solid mid-range contender. Maybe not as a competitive as recently released mid-range phones, but with constant software updates, users can keep it for a while. The device flaunts a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with an Infinity-O punch-hole. It draws power from a 4,000mAh battery and is powered by the Exynos 9611 chipset. The phone has a Quad-Camera setup on the rear comprising a main 48MP, 12MP ultrawide, 5MP macro, and 5MP depth sensors. It has up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of expandable storage. The only major downside is the 15W charging.
