Samsung, Google and Qualcomm team up to fight Apple

At the “Unpacked” event yesterday, gave a glimpse of a new ecosystem of “extended reality” (ER) devices. Together with and Qualcomm, they want to introduce smart glasses and XR headsets. This device will run on a custom version of Android. The three companies are jointly planning “Next Generation Experiences” for so-called XR products. TM Roh, head of ’s device division, revealed this at the Samsung Unpacked event in San Francisco. In this case, “Mixed Reality” (MR) is planned with XR. This means that they are now setting the target on a mixture of mixed and virtual reality.

At the moment, there are no exact details regarding the collaboration. But we expect Qualcomm to provide strong ultra-mobile ARM chips in its Snapdragon XR series.
