Vivo is restless when it comes to launching new devices. The brand has just introduced a new Vivo Y20 variant this week and is about to introduce a new Vivo V-series smartphone in India – The Vivo V21. The device keeps being a target o multiple rumors and leaks. Amidst all the speculations a new leak has emerged today suggesting a launch date for the device. According to a report from Moneycontrol that cites Industrial sources, the company is planning to launch the new Vivo V21 in India on April 27 and the same day it will go official in the Malaysian market. Of course, this info is yet to be confirmed and the date could change.
Vivo V21 comes with a 44MP selfie camera and OIS
While the Vivo V21 is landing in India on April 27th, other Vivo V-series models will launch in the market at different launch dates. The reports also bring some info about the cameras in the V21. According to it, the V21 will pack a 44MP selfie snapper with Optical Image Stabilization and Eye Auto Focus. It will reach the market in a price point of around INR 25,000 and will be the first smartphone in this price segment to arrive with Eye Auto Focus front camera. The technology is present in other Vivo smartphones, it will track users’ eye movement and focus the image accordingly.
Thankfully, this isn’t another Vivo V20 Pro clone. The smartphone comes with a single 44MP sensor on the front sitting underneath a waterdrop notch design. For those unaware, the V20 Pro and the multitude of clones come with a dual-camera setup with a main 44MP sensor. Getting back to the Vivo V21, the handset will come with a triple camera setup. It comprises a main 64MP AI camera plus two additional modules which purpose is still unknown. We assume that the secondary camera is for ultra-wide shots.
We know that the phone will come with Android 11 and Funtouch OS 11 running on top due to the presence of a virtual memory features. This feature will offer an additional 3GB RAM on top of the physical 8GB of RAM. The extra 3GB will be taken from the phone’s internal storage when necessary. A variant with 8GB of RAM will probably come with at least 128GB of Storage.
The V21 series will come with dual-SIM 5G network support. There is an indication that Vivo will split it between 4G and 5G variants. The vanilla model already passed by the BIS website, which hints at an imminent launch.
