What About New YouTube Premium Users?

While the platform has sent out mail to the existing YouTube Premium users, the new users will immediately see the hiked price. Existing customers will get “at least three extra months” before seeing the increased price in their bills. According to the mail, this decision wasn’t made lightly.

But why does YouTube need to increase the subscription of its Premium tier? As per the email, the price increase will “continue to improve Premium and support the creators and artists” of the platform.

YouTube Premium Features

For those wondering, YouTube Premium is not all about having an ad-free content-viewing experience. In addition, it offers audio-only playback mode, background playback, and an offline download option. It also offers a 1080p option that delivers improved bitrate.
